4 Months

Killian is 4 months old.

Stats @ 4 Months:

Killian - 13 lbs 6.5 oz & 25.5 inches
Weston - 15 lbs 2 oz & 24.75 inches
Jameson - 12 lbs 4.5 oz & 24.5 inches

I don't know the percentiles on these, but all of our boys have always been little (both in weight and height). Killian was 6 lbs 11 oz at birth so he has exactly doubled his weight in 4 months. He is sleeping through the night about 80% of the time (occasionally needs his paci in the middle of the night) and loves to giggle and show us that precious smile.

Weston has been happily sleeping in his big boy bed since January (20 months) and has to sleep with the Dick Vitale ball that Pappy bought him in Florida, Elmo and Curious George. Here's how Brad found him during a recent nap. Too Cute!

Welcome Laughlin Boy #3

Killian Michael was born on Friday, November 20th at 9:04 a.m.

He weighed in at 6 lbs 11 oz and is 20.5 inches long.

Although I was scheduled for a c-section on November 25th, this little guy decided he was ready to join us a little earlier and I went into labor early Friday morning. It was a bit of a rushed event (arrived at the hospital at 7 a.m., found out at 8 a.m. we were having surgery at 8:30 a.m.) but all went well and left very little time for my nerves to get to me much.

We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome our third son into this world. He is just precious and a perfect addition to the family. His big brothers LOVE him to pieces.

Earlier in August we took a trip to Holiday World with our good friends, the Kelleys. This was just a trip for the 'big' boys as we left the little guys with their grandparents. We had an awesome time and Jameson really loved all the rides/water slides. He certainly has no fear!

since my last post, that is. These days I'm lucky to just get the pictures taken, let alone uploaded to the computer and posted to the blog. I think my goal for 2009 will be at least one post a month. Here are some highlights from the last 3 months.

A friend of mine (thanks Nicole) tagged me with the Kreativ Blogger award. Here are the rules: List six things that make you happy. Pass the award along to six more bloggers. Do not give the typical answers and go for the less obvious, as you all know that family, friends, God, etc. would be on the list. So, here goes:

Unconditional Love... The kind of love you immediately understand as soon as your children are born. The kind of love you share when they are smiling from ear to ear or giggling as you tickle their belly, the love you feel when they wrap their arms around your neck and squeeze with all their might, the love you have even when they are crying, throwing a fit, or you are changing a diaper that requires a dip in the tub and a complete clothes change. I absolutely love, cherish and adore my precious children.

On a lighter note... Cheese! It really does make me happy. All kinds - Cheddar, Feta, Blue, Mozzarella... I could go on and on. In fact one of my favorite things to eat right now is the smoked Gouda apple melt at Chatham Tap on Mass Ave. It's delicious!

DVR - I can't stand to watch commercials and DVR has essentially helped to eliminate having to watch them at all. Love it!

Sleeping In - Those of you that know me well, know how much I like my sleep (well, I'm a night owl, but I love to sleep in). Unfortunately, it doesn't happen often these days, but fortunately I have a husband who is much more of a morning person and will take care of the boys to let me sleep in on occasion. Thank you, Bradley!

HGTV, TLC and The Food Network - I swear there are days when the TV is only on these channels for the entire day. I love to watch design and cooking shows although I never intend to try the design tips or cook the meals. I just enjoy the entertainment. Brad doesn't understand that, but it really is just entertaining.

Shopping - it really is euphoric. Doesn't matter if it is for me, for gifts, for clothes, shoes, stuff... just the act of shopping makes me happy. Especially if I can get a great deal. The better the deal, the happier it makes me.

Ok... I will award this to any fellow blogger who reads this. I know we are all busy, so if you find the time to do it, great. If not, oh well.

A few weeks ago we were at Costco on a Sunday right before the Colts game, so of course we all had on our Colts gear. A couple kept passing us and telling 'Peyton' (aka Jameson) to play well and to make sure he threw 3 touchdowns. Ever since then if Jameson has his Colts jersey on he will ask us what his name is - Peyton, and then wants to know what Weston's name is - Marvin. Well, tonight after Mass we were talking to a lady who asked Jameson what his name was and he told her he was Peyton. She smiled and told him she liked his name. He then went on to tell her all about how the football players get hot and sweaty and have to take a shower and ride the school bus home and then go night night. (A summary of our conversation from last night's high school football game.) I did tell her his name was not really Peyton, but after all that, it didn't really matter. Go Colts!

Baptism

Weston was baptized on September 28th. It was a great day and we are so glad that all of our family was able to share it with us. Weston is blessed with wonderful Godparents - Uncle Kevin and Aunt Julie. He was so good for the baptism even though we were told that the water was extremely cold. The baptism clothing that both Weston and Jameson wore was made out of my wedding dress.

Back in August, before I went back to work, we took a short trip to Louisville with Nana, Pappy, Kylie and Cole. We stayed at The Galt House on the river which was very nice. We took a ferry ride on the river and visited the Louisville Slugger museum. It was a great little trip enjoyed by all.

The Colts season has not started off so great (both for the team and my noggin)! But, we certainly have had 2 great tailgates so far and expect things to improve from here on out. Lucas Oil Stadium is great (except for the 2 losses and the extremely hard sidewalk). Go Colts!

We had Weston's 3 month pictures taken over the weekend. We tried to get a few with both boys, but it wasn't easy to pose a 2 year old and a 3 month old together. We got a few cute ones though and here are some of my favorites.

Crashed Computer

I apologize for the lack of posts. Our computer completely crashed about a month ago and we lost everything on our hard drive and didn't have upload capability for our camera. We (Brad) are still working on fixing the computer and attempting to recover the lost data. Keep your fingers crossed - every digital picture we have taken since 2003 was on there and unfortunately was not backed up (lesson for everyone... upload pictures to a website or back up on external drives, etc.). I do have a few pictures that other people have taken and sent to me, so I have included some below.

I started back to work on Monday and we all survived. :) Below is a picture of Weston from daycare (or work as Jameson calls it). As you can see... he didn't have any trouble sleeping in the new environment. It is definitely going to take some time to get our schedules figured out and get adjusted, but with time I'm sure it will all get easier.

Weston is 2 months old. At his 2 month appointment he weighed 12 lbs 10.5 oz and was 22 inches long (plenty big, but kinda short). He's doing well - not sleeping as well as we would like but I guess we were spoiled w/ Jameson. We're hoping the sleeping gets better soon as Mommy goes back to work in just 3 short weeks. I've posted a variety of pictures below - it was easier to just do them all in one post today. Enjoy!

Last week we went to the Children's Museum w/ Nini and Papaw for Nini's b-day. She had fun w/ her 4 grandsons. Above are Alex, Andrew & Jameson w/ Curious George. The boys had a blast!

Check out Jameson swimming all by himself! Nana & Pappy got Jameson and Macey swim lessons this summer and they definitely have been worth it. At the first lessons he wouldn't let go of Nana or Miss Sarah, but after a few weeks he got the hang of it and now likes to swim like a fish!

Weston's First 2 Weeks

Weston is 2 weeks old! Everyone is adjusting well to life with a newborn. Jameson loves his little brother and likes to know where he is at all times. So far he has been a good eater and sleeper with a mellow demeanor. He surpassed his birth weight at 1 week weighing in at 8 lbs 1/2 oz at his first check up. Weston was named after 2 of his great grandfathers - Weston from Julie's grandfather Wesley Hedrick and Otto from Brad's grandfather Otto Costello. Although we never met each other's grandfathers, we know that he is named after two very special men. Here are a few pics from the last 2 weeks.

Ready or not... here I come! Baby Laughlin will be here in 7 days. I have been getting complaints that there have been no pictures of me pregnant on the blog. So, here you go... I'm looking large! This was on Saturday, so hopefully this is as big as I get. I've gained 26 lbs which is exactly what I gained with Jameson. Overall I feel good and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of this new little one. We'll be updating the blog and sending an email once baby boo is here.

Jameson had an exciting Saturday. He rode in daddy's 'red' car and went to qualifications at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He even met Dan Wheldon, 2005 Indy 500 winner who will start the 2008 Indy 500 in the 1st row.

I think the carseat takes away from the 'coolness' factor!

Notice that Jameson also has his 'thumbs up'. Jameson told Dan to 'Go Fast'.

Otherwise known as "gymnastics"... Jameson is half way through the parent/tot class. Although Jameson enjoys it, he doesn't necessarily follow instructions and prefers to move at his own pace. Needless to say, Daddy is ready to sign him up for soccer next year instead.

Everyone got a gold medal, but Jameson still had to bully a girl for hers.

Florida Trip

In February, the three of us went to Florida for a short pre-baby vacation and visit with Brad's parents. The weather was wonderful and Jameson loved swimming. See the pictures below for Jameson's adventures at the pool!

Jameson turned 2 in January and celebrated with family and friends at the Aquatic Center in Plainfield. As you can see from his cakes, two of his favorite things are basketball and Mickey Mouse. Of course, he is an IU and Colts fan!
